Svenja Mahlstede studied Music Business & Creative Industries in Mannheim, Germany and Brisbane, Australia.
After completing internships at the indie label “Inertia” in Sydney and the live entertainment company “BB Promotion”, she specialized in music licensing.
Her work experience also includes working in the Creative Services & Licensing department at the indie publisher “Imagem”, where she was in charge for licensing and pitching songs.
At her current position as a Synch Manager at Sony/ATV Music Publishing Germany, her tasks include licensing music for films, games and advertising as well as creating playlists and pitching music to clients such as car brands, beauty & lifestyle companies, music supervisors, filmmakers and game developers.
With more than 5 years’ experience in the sync and licensing business, she was able to acquire a broad knowledge of music rights clearing and the sync & advertising market, which she passes on to music business students as a freelance university lecturer and as a conference speaker at showcase festivals.
