After earning a degree in International Business from the University of Texas at Austin in 1992, Susan Rosenberg started a journey through sales, marketing, distribution, product and artist management in the music business. From Waterloo Records in Austin and National Record Mart in Pittsburgh, Susan moved into distribution marketing at Koch International in New York, and further on to marketing positions at record labels.
Susan worked as Director or Catalog Marketing for RCA Music Group, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Putumayo World Music, and Head of Music Marketing at Chris Blackwell’s Palm Pictures.
Susan ventured on her own in 2004, founding Magenta Marketing, a company specializing in music marketing and promotion for independent artists and record labels. In 2008, Magenta Marketing expanded to MAS (Magenta Artist Services) providing a new paradigm in artist management; and in 2012, Susan launched Magenta Label Group, offering worldwide digital distribution through Entertainment One Distribution to independent artists and record labels. The Magenta catalog has grown to over 500 releases in all genres – from Pop to Folk, Kids, Broadway, Jazz, Classical, Rock and World Music.
Susan serves on the Board of Directors of the Landmark on Main Street, and the Oratorio Society of Queens. She is also a voting member of the Recording Academy (The Grammys).
